Awards

The Pearl Award was conceived during the term of past president Teody Arcenas when the Philippine Chapter was privileged to have the then BAI Executive Director F. Byers Miller as guest of honor and principal speaker at our Pearl Anniversary Convention in 1970. Mr. Miller was overwhelmed by the success of that convention so much so that he made a personal cash donation “as a more tangible expression” of appreciation and admiration to the Chapter. The fund is to be used as seed money to undertake the cost of conferring this annual Pearl Award to that young banker (male or female) active in the Philippine Chapter who most closely meets the goals of a professional banker.

The objective, therefore of the Pearl Award is two-fold. First, is to give recognition to that banker whose selfless dedication to the profession resulted in some exceptional achievements which have significantly contributed to the welfare and well-being of the Institute and its members. Second, to focus attention to these achievements to serve as inspirational example for all of us to forge ahead to greater.
